What to Pack? OMG!!!

Download Post: PDF: What to Pack

It was the weeks before CWW3, and all throughout the state, campers and parents were beginning to feel anxious about packing… but I can assure you, don’t stress. This week is going to be great!

Packing can be stressful, and our Camp Wildwood staff understands that. However, there is no need for CWW packing to be a burden! With this packing guide for CWW3, it is our hope that all the last-minute sweating and anxiousness can be avoided, and that campers can arrive on June 12th prepared and ready to have another one of the best weeks of their lives.

What to Bring:

First, there are three new, important items that are exclusive to third year and allow our program to enjoy various activities in the ACE Basin. Each of these items should be brought to drop off with the camper’s suitcase.

  1. Life Jacket (We have an activity where we go out on a boat and we are asked to bring a life jacket. If you do not have one, contact wildwood@gmail.com and let us know.

  2. Saltwater fishing license (Can be purchased at any Walmart – sporting goods section)

  3. Tube or Float: We will be tubing down the Edisto!!! We ask that you provide your own tube/float or raft. Be creative. Last year we had a blast. Below are some examples on amazon that would work great:

Besides the three new items (lifejacket, saltwater fishing license, and tube), pack like you would for regular Camp Wildwood! However, just remember that we spend more time in water during the third-year program.

  • Enough clothes for 7 days

  • Toiletries

  • Several bathing suits

  • Towels

  • Small Backpack

  • Hat & rain jacket

  • Bring a water bottle, one that can hold at least a liter of water; Nalgene type bottles are perfect.

  • Sunscreen

  • Spending money for the road (About $40)

  • Lightweight long sleeve shirt and long pants for beach walk

  • Sweatshirt. We have AC and I like to keep it cold in the evenings.

  • Sleeping arrangements call for either a sleeping bag or pillowcase and bed linens for single mattresses (I bring a sleeping bag). You may bring your own pillow

  • Also, since cell phones are not allowed, please bring a watch

  • Optional: Flashlight, insect repellent, life jacket, camera

Finally, space is limited: Please try to limit these items to one, large bag (not including your pillow, sleeping items).

Now, we’re all set! Let the countdown to CWW3 begin. Our staff has prepared one of the best coastal adventure programs in the state. Now that packing for camp can be simplified to this list, it’s time to sit back, relax, and rest up. CWW3 Family, we will see you in 25 days.
